The Myth of “I’ll Begin When I’m Ready”

So many artists and small business owners put off action because they’re waiting for:

• the perfect idea
• the perfect photo
• the perfect website
• the perfect time

Perfection feels productive—but most of the time, it’s just fear in a nicer outfit. Just another way to put things off.

Progress happens when you show up before you feel ready.

Momentum Is Built in Small, Ordinary Moments

Motivation doesn’t magically arrive on Monday morning with coffee. If it were only that easy.  But, it is created through movement—tiny steps that add up.

Today’s progress might look like:

• sketching for 15 minutes
• editing one product photo
• writing a single paragraph
• organizing your workspace
• posting imperfectly but honestly

None of those are flashy. All of them count.

Choose One Thing (Just One)

Instead of overwhelming yourself with everything you should do this week, try this:

👉 What’s the one thing I can do today that moves me forward—even slightly?

Not ten things. Not a total overhaul. Just one intentional action.

Finish that, and you’ve already won Monday.

A New Way to Look at the Week Ahead

You are allowed to:

• grow at your own pace
• change direction
• learn as you go
• build imperfectly

Your creative work doesn’t need to be louder or faster. It needs to be honest, consistent, and cared for.
